The London Book Fair 2022

The London Book Fair (5 - 7 April, 2022)

The London Book Fair is the global marketplace for story creators. The publishers and deal makers. The copyright pros, the commissioners, and the global licensers. Those involved in rights negotiation across print, audio, TV, film and digital channels. This is a salute to the story creators. Because this year the story is all about you.

The hub of the publishing world

The London Book Fair is the global marketplace for rights negotiation and the sale and distribution of content across print, audio, TV, film and digital channels.

Staged annually, our in-person event typically welcomes more than 25,000 publishing professionals to London for the week of the fair to learn, network, and kick off their year of business.

A global marketplace

We want to bring colour to the world of words. Every year we curate a first-class fair to give you a multitude of opportunities in London, the global publishing centre.

Since 2004, our Market Focus initiative has helped create both commercial and cultural partnerships around the world. Each year, we put the spotlight on publishing trade links with the country or region being showcased.

This is your opportunity to connect with the best of the industry in one place, as we bring together publishing professionals from all corners of the globe.  (Sourced from:

Keeping you safe

Your safety and your business are our priorities. At The London Book Fair, you can be confident that both are in safe hands. As well as carefully following the latest advice and guidelines we are working with local authorities, and under our own strict precautions, to put new measures in place to deliver a safe event for you to meet, learn and do business.

This means our event will look a little different this year, but these changes will allow you to enjoy the experience whilst keeping yourself, and others, safe.

Stay safe

Introduction to Rights

2022 programme will be available soon.

At a time when book sales have been hit by the pandemic, international sales trips have had to be cancelled and book fairs have had to reinvent themselves as online marketplaces, it is more important than ever to maximise the rights potential of your titles.

This conference is aimed at all those who want to sell rights but are unsure where to start. It is perfect for those who have recently joined the industry and all who want to know more about making the most of their creative content.

The individual sessions introduce the basics of copyright which underpin all rights selling, stress the role and importance of rights, investigate the range of rights that can be sold, share practical advice on selling and offer guidelines on negotiation of a deal and creating a watertight contract.

Benefits of attending:

Attendance gives an opportunity to hear from legal and rights professionals, and the conference concludes with an opportunity to continue the discussion and put your individual queries to the experts.
